Emergency Waivers
A Proclamation of a State of Emergency (Proclamation) and an Executive Orders issued by the Governor may permit the Director of the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) to waive provisions of the Family Code, Health and Safety Code, Welfare and Institutions Code, and accompanying regulations or written directives. Waivers are authorized in the counties identified in the Proclamation and Executive Orders, and may be granted with respect to the use, licensing, certification, registration or approval of care providers, facilities, organizations, or homes within CDSS jurisdiction.
Granted waivers for each Emergency are posted below.
Any individual waivers granted shall be in effect only as authorized in the Proclamation and Executive Orders, and in the counties identified. Once a waiver expires or is terminated, all licensing requirements covered by the waiver are reinstated immediately.
