Online Orientations

The Adult and Senior Care Program, Centralized Applications Bureau is now accepting Adult and Senior care applications. Please mail them to: Department of Social Services, Centralized Applications Bureau, 744 P Street MS 9-14-8201, Sacramento, CA 95814. The Adult Care licensing categories include Adult Residential Facilities (ages 18-59), Adult Day Programs (ages 18+), Social Rehabilitation Facilities, and Residential Care Facilities for the Chronically Ill and Adult Residential Care Facilities for Persons with Special Health Care Needs.

A Senior Care license is required for a facility that provides varying levels of care and supervision to residents 60 years of age or older. This type of facility is called a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly, or RCFE. 

Register for the Adult and Senior Care Orientations

In order to obtain a license to operate a Residential Care Facility in California you must first attend an Application/Component I Orientation and an Operations and Record Keeping/Component III Orientation. Currently, the Application/Component I Orientations are available in-person and online. The Record Keeping/Component III Orientations are only available at in-person training session.

Please do not use a cell phone, iPad, or tablet to take the orientation. In order to proceed with the orientation registration you need to use a laptop or a computer and provide your email address.
 

Each applicant must have their own unique email address.

Registration Instructions

The orientation fee is $50, plus a processing fee of $4.85 (for a total of $54.85). This fee is non-refundable or transferable.

The orientation and processing fees are payable by using either a credit card, or a debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo on it.

Please make sure you register for the correct orientation and register only one time.

It may take up to 24 hours to receive your username and password; before contacting the support desk, please check the spam or junk folder if you have not received the information in your inbox.

Online support is Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Please allow for up to 48 hours for a response.  You may experience some delays in receiving information due to holiday closures or office schedule changes.

For questions regarding the licensing process, please contact your local regional licensing office.  Do not contact the online orientation support desk.

Please note: Fees are non-refundable or transferable.

NOTE:  You will only have access to the online orientation for 30 days from the time you registered.   After 30 days you will not be able to view the course or retrieve the completed certificate.

Note: You will only have access to the online orientation for 30 days. Please complete the training within 30 days of registration.

In-Person Orientations

For information on how to register for an Adult or Senior Care Orientation, please call the appropriate orientation phone number that is closest to you, please contact the nearest Regional Office.

Reservations are required for all sessions and can be made by contacting the office where you will be attending. You may attend the orientation at any office.

Adult Care - $50.00
Senior Care - $50.00

All fees are non-refundable and must be paid in advance to the office where you will be attending.
