Resources for Relatives and Caregivers
In California, Resource Family Approval (RFA) is required to
obtain placement of foster youth, including ICPC placements.
To initiate the RFA process, please contact the County RFA program in the county where you reside.
County contact lists and other information about the RFA program may be found on the Resource Family Approval (RFA) Home Page
***Note: It is recommended that families interested in ICPC placement seek Resource Family Approval with their local County RFA Program. Obtaining Resource Family Approval through a private foster or adoptive agency may create barriers to placement.
For questions regarding the status of an Incoming ICPC request, please contact the county ICPC office in the county where you reside.
For families residing out of state and seeking placement of a California Dependent youth, please contact the California County Child Welfare Office handling the case.
For a list of California County liaisons, go to the AAICPC Resources webpage and download the PDF “CA ICPC County Liaisons List” (found toward the bottom of the page).
