Resettlement Agencies
A Resettlement Agency (RA) provides resettlement assistance and is initially the sponsor of a refugee entering the United States. The RAs contract with the U.S. Department of State to provide services such as reception, basic orientation, counseling, food, shelter and health services to refugees. The RAs act as referral sources to the appropriate local agencies for employment and English language training. See the RA fact sheet for more information on its role and responsibilities, and the list below for contact information.
In addition, these organizations attend County Refugee Forum meetings throughout the state to discuss the issues and concerns of the refugee population in an effort to develop solutions for implementing services for successful refugee resettlement.
