CAN provides State leadership to help California counties:

Improve the quality of care foster child and youth receive in foster and kinship care
Enhance the recruitment and retention of foster families to increase the number of quality foster families willing to foster or adopt
Build statewide linkages with support services, training, and education for foster families
Enhance communications between caregiver and agency staff
Increase placement stability
Shorten the length of time to permanency for children and youth in out-of-home care

Allegations – When a problem develops
Visitation – Supporting the parent-child relationships of children in foster care
Quality Parenting Initiative (QPI) – began in 2009 as a collaborative effort
Reasonable Prudent Parent Standard – Provides foster children and youth with a “normal” life experience in-out-home care
