More people than ever before will qualify for significant new tax benefits this year. For the first time, adults without kids at home who work could get money from the federal government to boost their income through the Earned Income Tax Credit. Individuals may qualify for an income boost of more than $1,500 if they don’t have children living with them or up to $6,700 if they are raising children in the home. This money is not a loan. People ages 19-24 and 65 and older who work are newly eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit even if they don’t have kids or don’t usually file taxes. Visit Getctc.org to find out more about how to get this tax credit.
California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has curated these resources to help your clients get their new and expanded federal tax credit payments. Share these important materials with clients, stakeholders, and the community to assist with the outreach efforts.
