Housing and Homelessness Data Reporting Solution (HHDRS)

Background

Currently, CDSS collects program data for housing and homelessness programs from grantees via Microsoft Excel workbooks. As the number of grantees and volume of data has increased over the years, there is a need for more advanced technological tools to collect, process, analyze, and visualize this data. To this end, CDSS is implementing the Housing and Homelessness Data Reporting Solution (HHDRS).

Goals, Objectives, and Key Features

The goal of HHDRS is to enable HHD grantees to report information into one seamless software solution that will be accessible to HHD and grantee counterparts. This system is being designed to replace reports currently being submitted via Excel workbooks for the following programs:
  • Home Safe
  • Housing and Disability Income Advocacy Program (HDAP)
  • Bringing Families Home (BFH)
  • CalWORKs Housing Support Program (HSP)
HHDRS will use Apricot 360, a secure, web-based cloud platform, to collect and store program data in a relational database. Each grantee will access the system through licenses provided by CDSS, allowing them to edit, submit updates, and track records in real time, with version control. Additionally, the platform will support bulk data uploads and provide tools for generating reports and visualizations, enabling grantees to analyze their program data effectively.

HHDRS Training Registration

Training sessions on how to use HHDRS for staff who will be assigned licenses to the system are listed below. To accommodate various schedules, we scheduled two training sessions per program. The training sessions cover the same content and staff assigned licenses are only expected to attend one session for each respective program they operate. Design 		CDSS held three webinars and
received written feedback through an online survey.

Webinar attendance ranged from
30-40 participants. There were 50
responses to the survey across all

User Acceptance Testing There was a total of 37 testers who
tested the configured system in
