What is the comprehensive prevention planning toolkit?

The comprehensive prevention planning toolkit is a web-based resource for counties and tribes with a Title IV-E agreement to use for the development and implementation of the comprehensive prevention plan.


What does the comprehensive prevention plan toolkit include?

Each component within the comprehensive prevention plan is defined and subsequent links to resources and examples are provided.

  • Definition of the component within the comprehensive prevention plan
  • A statement indicating if the component is a requirement per All County Letter 22-23
  • Links to additional resources to assist in the development of the section within the comprehensive prevention plan
  • Guiding questions to assist in completing the specific section (alignment with the readiness assessment)

What is the comprehensive prevention plan template?

The comprehensive prevention plan template is a guide for Title IV-E agencies to to use to write the comprehensive prevention plan. The template is a fillable document and can be submitted to the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) as the final comprehensive prevention plan once completed. The use of the template is optional, Title IV-E agencies may elect to submit a comprehensive prevention plan in a different format so long as each of the required components of the comprehensive prevention plan are addressed.
