About AARS
The Administrative Action Records System (AARS) is legislatively mandated and designed to help ensure that
administrative actions and notices of actions filed against potential applicants can be viewed by departments within the
California Health and Human Services Agency and all 58 California counties during the background clearance process.
The state and local government agencies with access to AARS include:
- All 58 California counties
- California Department of Aging
- California Department of Health Care Services
- California Department of Public Health
- California Department of Social Services
- California Emergency Medical Services Authority
To Gain Access to AARS
CDSS Employees:
Complete an AARS Access Request Form and
submit the form to
aarsadmin@dss.ca.gov.
County and Other State Departments:
Complete an AARS Access Request Form and
submit the form to
