  • The Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Resources Directory can be accessed directly on the Tribal/State Programs web page via the Center for Families, Children and the Courts (CFCC) web site. It is an interactive database that houses a directory of resources that serve Native American families. The directory contains listings that can be searched by county (California only), service type or both. These services that are listed serve the entire state of California and nationwide. The search also contains keywords (mental health, legal, etc..) in an effort to search for a resource in a quick and easy manner.
  • The Indian Health Clinic (IHC) Program provides traditional and mainstream mental health and substance abuse treatment and other support services to eligible Native Americans and their immediate family members in a culturally relevant manner. The goal of the program is to assist adult program participants to secure or retain employment or successfully complete employment and training programs. Specific IHC activities and services include, but are not limited to: outreach to Native American communities about IHC Program services; completion of needs assessments; development of treatment plans; referrals to appropriate treatment programs; referrals to employment, education, and skills training programs; assistance to obtain needed benefits/services; assistance with issues related to the legal and law enforcement systems; counseling services for family issues such as suicide prevention, domestic abuse, and anger/stress management; and transportation services.   • The Welfare Peer Technical Assistance Network (Welfare Peer TA) is a technical assistance initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office of Family Assistance. Welfare Peer TA facilitates the sharing of information between and among States, counties, localities, Tribal organizations, and community-based organizations working with Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) families. Tribal TANF Administrators' Meeting

 

The Tribal TANF Administrators' (TTA) meeting is held several times throughout the year. The next CDSS/Tribal TANF Administrators' meeting will be held in-person at CDSS with the virtual option from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024. For the first time, this TTA quarterly hybrid meeting also invites our Indian Health Clinic partners to participate.

WDTIP Coordinator Contact

 

The following Welfare Data Tracking Implementation Project (WDTIP) County Contacts List has been made available in order that qualified Tribal TANF Program personnel may obtain recipients’ time on aid data. The California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program tracks CalWORKs recipients time on aid via the WDTIP /Tracking Recipients Across California (TRAC) system.

Both the CalWORKs and Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs staff are required to ensure that TANF time limit requirements, in accordance with Manual of Policies and Procedures Section 42-301, are met by tracking time on aid in a TANF program. This requires eliciting information from applicants, and verifying receipt of aid from a prior TANF program, another state’s TANF program, or CalWORKs. The CalWORKs staff are available to provide you with WDTIP, time on aid data.
