This Management Bulletin (MB) notifies agencies participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has issued a revision of FNS Instruction 796-2 regarding financial management of the CACFP. This Instruction can now be found in the Download Forms section of the Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS) or you can download FNS Instruction 796-2, Revision 4 as an Adobe PDF from the USDA FNS Financial Management Tools website. This revision supersedes FNS Instruction 796-2, Revision 3.

Agencies should review this Instruction as it provides current information regarding the establishment and maintenance of a nonprofit food service program and will help to ensure an agency’s compliance with USDA financial management regulations. All agencies participating in the CACFP are expected to comply with FNS Instruction 796-2, Revision 4.
